Tell me again why we don't live in CT?

Our East Coast visits inevitably prompt Caroline and I to question why it is exactly that we don't live back near our families? This very much includes our "extended" family: my friend Phillip Schoonmaker, his wife Emily and their daughter (my goddaughter) Sadie. On Saturday night we ventured up to New Canaan to have dinner and gelato with the Schoonmakers. Posted by Picasa

A brief interlude

Instead of our house, let's pause for a second and talk about my sister's house, also purchased this summer. Alyssa and Justin bought a great big beautiful place in Stamford, CT. Although it made their commute a bit longer, i can imagine they really enjoy the space and quiet after spending several years living in Manhattan. Posted by Picasa

Grr, argh. Pizza man.

Just one of the many fun 'must haves' at United House Wrecking in Stamford, CT

Renters don't own grills

Molly & Frank and Phillip & Emily got us a great housewarming gift in this sweet Weber grill. And Frank even assembled it for us, knowing that otherwise Caroline and I would be left staring at the instructions.

Pancakes!

Brunch with Colin & Lucinda (son Mason hidden) and Dionne.

I violated one of my rules - no pancakes except on the Sunday of three day weekends. The sugar and carbs make me so sleepy.....

When life gives you lemons...

Uhh, make lemonade? Caroline displays a lemon from our backyard.

Future's so bright, gotta wear shades

This week we bid goodbye to our $5 Home Depot temporary shades and welcomed some new fancy Bali Blinds into our office, bedroom and guest bath.

I have nothing smart to say, just wanted to let you know.

Going Yard

My parents recently helped us purchase some furniture for the yard from Wooden Duck. It's quite the improvement from my normal $5.98 Target plastic chair. Dare I say 'classy?'

So a big thanks to them. And we hope they can visit some time soon to see the house up close.
